3 killed, 5 injured in road accidents

Three people were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents in Sirajganj, Jhenidah and Satkhira yesterday.
Our Sirajganj correspondent reports: A bus hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Saratia in the sadar upazila on Monday night, killing Haradhan Modak, 35, of Khokshabari village in Enayetpur upazila, and injuring four others.
The injured were rushed to different local clinics.
In Jhenidah, a motorcyclist was killed and his daughter critically injured when a brick-laden truck rammed his bike at Hatfajilpul Bazar in Shailakupa upazila of the district yesterday morning.
The deceased is Ali Akbar alias Goljar, 47, son of late Abul Kasem of Pachpakia village in the upazila while the injured is Rajoni Khatun, 18.
Rajoni was undergoing treatment at Magura Sadar Hospital.
In Satkhira, bus helper Ainul Haque, 17, son of Sajjad Ali of village Charaghat in Kalaroa upazila, was injured as he fell down from the bus while trying to get up to the rooftop of the bus on Satkhira-Jessore road at Murarikati in the upazila at 10:00am yesterday, said police.
He died on the way to Kalaroa Upazila Health Complex.
