Jubo Dal vandalises BNP office

A group of leaders and activists of Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, denied posts in the newly formed committee of the organisation, vandalised the district unit office of BNP Thursday night.
The central committee of Jubo Dal declared the new committee of Tangail district unit on Thursday, naming Ahmedul Haque Shatil as president, Ashraf Paheli as general secretary, and Shafiqul Islam Swapan as organising secretary, party sources said.
On hearing the declaration, Jubo Dal men loyal to Kazi Shafiqur Rahman Liton, convener of the organisation, vandalised the BNP office at Victoria Road in the town on that night.
They also brought out a procession in the town yesterday but police dispersed it. Later, they gathered near Old Bus Stand and burnt an effigy of the district BNP president Ahmed Azam Khan, also advisor of the BNP chairperson, demanding cancellation of the committee.
Police detained one Nurun Nabi from there.
