Maintain quality in higher edn
University Grants Commission (UGC) Chairman Prof AK Azad Chowdhury yesterday stressed the need for maintaining quality in higher education.
He said this while addressing a two-day long workshop in Rajshahi University as the chief guest.
Without ensuring quality, increasing the number of educated persons will not be fruitful for higher education, he said.
He also emphasised allocating sufficient budget for the higher educational institutions to provide quality education.
Islami History and Culture Department of the university organised the workshop titled 'Strategy of Teaching-Learning Quality Development in Islamic History and Culture' at the university's senate building.
RU vice-chancellor Prof Abdus Sobhan presided over the inaugural session while Prof Emeritus Jamal Nazrul Islam of Chittagong University and RU pro-vice chancellor Prof Muhammad Nurullah were present as special guests. RU Prof Emeritus Prof ABM Hossain delivered the inaugural speech.
