Speakers at an anti-imperialism international conference yesterday pledged to intensify massive global movement to prevent aggression by imperialists.
They said this while addressing the launching ceremony of the 3rd International Anti-imperialism Conference organised by International Anti-Imperialist and People's Solidarity Coordinating Committee (IAPSCC) and Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) at the Mahanagar Natyamanchya in the city.
Left-wing leaders from 25 countries are participating in the conference, says a press release.
General Secretary of SPB Comrade Khalequzzaman said they were fighting against the rulers' stooping before imperialism and multinational companies to save the country's natural resources.
People across the world had burst into rage against imperialism, said IAPSCC's General Secretary Manik Mukherjee.
Earlier, wreaths were placed at the Shaheed Minar beside the stage and a minute's silence was also observed to pay tributes to the martyrs who gave their lives to establish a discrimination free fair society.
The conference will end tomorrow through 'Dhaka Announcement'.
