Siddikur bounces back
Siddkur Rahman bounced back with a three-under-par 68 on the third day of the CIMB Asia Pacific Classic in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. The three-round aggregate of four-under-par 209 placed the 27-year old in 27th position, some 12 shots adrift of new leader Bo Van Pelt of the United States.
Jeff Overton of USA was in second place with 198, a shot behind Pelt. Sweden's Fredrik Jacobson and America's Mark Wilson shared third place, three behind Pelt, while Malaysia's Danny Chia shared fifth position with former world number one Vijay Singh of Fiji and Jason Dufner of the United States.
Siddikur, who had a three-under-par first round followed by a two-over-par in the second, started the third day at the Mines Resort and Golf Club on the right foot, sinking a birdie in the third hole. He followed it up with another birdie in the sixth to end the front nine on 33.
Siddikur's surge was thwarted a little with a bogey in the 11th hole, but he recovered superbly with a double-birdie in the 14th hole. Another birdie in the 16th hole and no more bogeys meant Siddkur ended the back nine on 35, to cap off a three-under-par third round.
