Two commit suicide

A housewife and a teenage female domestic help committed suicide at Pallabi and Rampura in the city yesterday.
Shahinur Begum, 20, wife of electrician Mohammad Shamim of Rupnagar area, hanged herself from a ceiling fan around 1:00pm in her residence.
She was rushed to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctor declared her dead, Shahinur's mother-in-law Jayeda Begum told reporters.
Police arrested Shamim from DMCH.
Meanwhile, police recovered hanging body of a domestic help in city's Rampura area on Monday night.
Deceased Champa Akhter, 14, has been working in the residence of bank official Jahid Mahmood Khan of West Rampura for last two months.
Police said they recovered the body from the balcony after breaking open the door of her master's residence around 10:00pm.
Jahid and his wife who were outside the residence found the door locked from inside and called police.
