Bank Asia wins int'l award

Bank Asia Ltd has won 'Bracken Award' as bank of the year 2007 for Bangladesh given away by the London-based Financial Times and The Banker Magazine, says a press release.
Financial Times and The Banker Magazine give the award every year to recognise the success and financial achievements of the world's top financial institutions.
This year a total of 457 banks from 143 countries took part in the contest, out of which 155 banks won the award.
President and Managing Director of Bank Asia Syed Anisul Huq received the award on behalf of the bank from Editor of The Banker Magazine Brian Caplen, while former BBC correspondent Michael Buerk was present at the award giving ceremony held recently in London.
