Beanibazar, Feni post home wins
Two home sides won their Bangladesh League matches while the other host lost theirs yesterday.
Feni Soccer Club posted their first victory on home soil when they defeated ten-man Chittagong Abahani 1-0 at the Shaheed Salam Stadium in Feni.
The other winner at home was Sylhet's Beanibazar Sporting Club while Shukhtara of Narayanganj suffered a defeat.
In Feni, the hosts played attacking football and took a deserved lead in the 20th minute through a strike from Anwar and that was the decisive goal in the match.
After resumption, the visitors stepped up the attack in a bid to level the margin, but they could not split the backline of Feni Soccer Club as they at one stage were reduced to ten men when Mintu was given the marching orders. Chittagong Abahani conceded their sixth defeat from eleven outings.
The fourth win in 11 matches took the Feni club to fourth position with 16 points.
In Sylhet, Liberian Benjamin Cooper and Sohel Rana struck in each half to help Beanibazar post their second win on home soil with a 2-0 win over Rahmatganj MFS at Sylhet Stadium.
Benjamin put Beanibazar, who had earlier defeated Brothers Union at home, ahead in the 15th minute while Sohel sealed the fate of the game in the stoppage time of the second half.
With the second win, Beanibazar joined Chittagong Abahani and Rahmatganj at sixth place with 11 points each from 11 matches.
In Narayanganj, Sukhtara went 1-0 down to visiting Arambagh KS with Ugandan striker Kabuye Dominic separating the sides two minutes into the second half.
It was the third victory Arambagh in 11 matches to raise their point tally to 13 while Sukhtara with sixth defeat remained in the second from bottom as they have now seven points from 11 matches.
