Motorcyclists gather beneath a ramp for shelter from the rain on the Mayor Hanif flyover in the capital yesterday. The dozen or so motorcyclists and their vehicles have taken up more than half the road. The situation is all the more dangerous as they happen to be standing on a bend in the flyover, shielded from the sight of drivers of vehicles coming around it.

Night blooming Red Water lilies adorn the Shonir haor in Sunamganj as flashes of lightning light up the sky. Almost 70% of the wetlands in the district are covered in water lilies for around seven to eight months every year. These large flowers help farmers with honey cultivation throughout these months, as they attract swarms of bees. The photo was taken recently.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the Bangabhaban yesterday. The prime minister visited the president’s official residence around 6:30pm and apprised him of the outcome of the 76th United Nations General Assembly, which Hasina attended recently, and the overall activities of the government.
