Struggling to cope with the hike in the prices of essentials, she, like many others, has to buy necessary commodities at subsidised prices from such trucks.

Waste from factories nearby pollutes the Karnapara canal in Savar’s Ulail area. Locals also dump waste from homes in the canal, obstructing water flow. The canal merges with the Dhaleshwari, eventually polluting the river too. The photo was taken recently.
