Sobita Rani sits on a foothpath in the capital’s Dhakeshwari Temple area, sewing cloth for a customer. A mother of three, she has dug up her old sewing machine to help her husband, a day labourer at a shoe factory, run their family. By sewing, Sobita earns about Tk 100-200 a day.
