A woman cares her newborn baby who was born along the Dhaka-Tangail highway in Tangail’s Bhuapur upazila on Tuesday. Quoting her husband, police said the woman from Kurigram started to have labour pain when her bus remained stuck in jam for hours. As there was no hospital nearby, the mother delivered the child right beside the highway, with the help of some fellow passengers. The baby was named Sarani, after the place where she was born.
