A FUTILE ATTEMPT AT AIDING THE DISABLED

A FUTILE ATTEMPT AT AIDING THE DISABLED

But some footpaths were either grabbed or had traffic lights installed in such a way that even able-bodied people would find it difficult to maneuver. To make matters worse, Dhaka Metropolitan Police installed vertical iron poles on several footpaths to prevent illegal parking and bikers from using those. The city corporation officials allege that police did not consult them before installing the poles, while law enforcers say they did it to maintain discipline. The photos were taken on Mirpur Road near Russell Square yesterday. Photo: Anisur Rahman
