Due to its derelict condition, the footbridge in port city's Fakirhat area is being dismantled by Chattogram City Corporation. The work is going on at night to reduce risks and not to impede traffic movement on the busy road underneath. But no measures such as safety net or canopy or boundary fence were taken, other than a warning sign in front of the staircase. Commuters can easily become victim of falling debris.
