Flirty Skirts
Skirting it sight
Call us impatient, but here at Star Lifestyle, we always try to stay one step ahead in the game of styling. So, when the rest of the country is still dealing with the woes of winter, we march ahead, already pondering over the attires for coming spring.
The year 2020 has a lot to offer, especially in terms of fashion, and ruffles are the hottest things at the moment. Last week was all about ruffles in saris, and today, we discuss the curvy frills on skirts.
Pleated, leather, and denim skirts are all-time favourites, and there's high chance that this trend will repeat again this year. But the look that's the hottest and supposed to catch everyone's attention are the mermaid and the gypsy skirts — all covered in ruffles.
And the best thing about this style is that it can be easily matched with tops in layered short sleeves and the raglan.
If the ruffled skirt looks like it has been pulled out of a thrift store, then you have certainly nailed the trend! There must be a bohemian drift to the look. While the lengths of the skirst largely depend on the wearer, this year, we expect that the global trends to be more towards the mid lengths and the long.
The best thing about the ruffles and the gown style skirts, with a bit of sheer fun added, is that they are versatile and can be worn at any informal event— just like a good pair of jeans.
As styling suggestions, we propose the pairing of belts at the waist and knee-high boots. If boots seem too much for you, there is always the option of wearing colourful sandals. Attractive statement danglers are a must, with a pileup on beads and trinkets in the neckline. The makeup should be kept a little light, to avoid undermining the clothes and the rest of the styling.
When wallpaper prints and feathered tops are IN — a little black dress just cannot make up for the missing piece in styling. You definitely need something bold and out of the ordinary; enter the ruffled skirts!
But with bold designs in skirts, there's always a trick that you must maintain, and that's embracing a simpler top, preferably in a simple round collar or the disco, at most.
Whatever the consequence, the fashion season of the 2020s will find us swimming in tulle, and gala gowns now must also adopt the ruffles to look up to-the-minute trendy.
Hoping on the best for a future in light tiered dresses, skirts and saris that offer volume, drama and maximum twirl-ability.
