Improve our hospitals now!

It is very normal for Bangladeshi politicians to go abroad for advanced medical treatment while most Bangladeshis have to deal with poor quality treatment in public hospitals or go for expensive treatment in private hospitals. Over the years, successive governments have put in little effort to modernise the quality of our hospitals and the treatment they provide.

Those holding public offices should be restricted somehow from going abroad for medical treatment. Most Bangladeshis cannot afford to go abroad for their treatment, so why should public servants and representatives who are responsible for the poor conditions of our public hospitals be allowed to do so? Perhaps if they are prevented from going abroad for such treatments legally, they will realise how the ordinary people have suffered over the years and finally do something about it.
