“I cannot agree that jail authorities cannot do anything before getting the full verdict,” Alam said.
About the presidential clemency, the attorney general said Kamaruzzaman can seek the mercy and for that he did not need the full verdict but he must admit his guilt.
He reiterated his claimed that Kamaruzzaman do not have the right to move any review petition with the apex court against its verdict as per the constitution.
The Supreme Court on Monday upheld the death penalty of Kamaruzzaman awarded to him by a war crimes tribunal last year for abducting, torturing and killing freedom fighters, intellectuals and pro-liberation people in 1971.
