Covid-19: 80 deaths in 24 hours, lowest since June 23
Eighty people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours till 8am today, said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The total number of Covid-19 deaths in the country now stands at 25,926 and the death rate stands at 1.74 percent.
This is the lowest death toll since June 23.
At least 3,436 new infections were recorded during the period, taking the total number of people infected to 14,89,589, added the release.
The current positivity rate is 13.67 percent while the total positivity rate stands at 16.85 percent.
A total of 25,129 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours.
At least 4,861 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 14,09,231 and the recovery rate at 94.61 percent.
Among the 80 deceased, 41 were men and 39 were women. Of them, two between 31-40, 12 between 41-50, 23 between 51-60 and 43 were above 60 years old, added the release.
