Gonojagoron Mancha man stabbed in capital

A group of criminals yesterday stabbed a Gonojagoron Mancha activist in the capital' Paribagh.
Claiming him to be a supporter of Kamal Pasha, the victim, Shishir, 28, alleged that activists loyal to Imran H Sarkar had attacked him as a consequence of a factional clash inside the anti-war criminal platform.
Contacted, Imran, spokesperson of the platform, brushed aside the allegation, and said they had continued the movement in a non-violent way, and the question of hurting people was absurd.
Shishir, a member of Muktijoddha Projonma and an activist of the ruling Awami League-backed faction of the platform, said 10 to 12 people had forcibly tried to abduct him around 2:30pm when he was heading Shahbagh on foot.  
As he tried to resist, three to four of them stabbed him and fled the scene, he told reporters at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he was taken after the attack.
Sources in the hospital said the victim had sustained minor injuries in the left hand, stomach and head.
Shibli Noman, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (Raman zone), said they had heard about the incident, and had been trying to nab the culprits.
Contacted, on-duty officer of Shahbagh Police Station late last night said Shishir had filed a case accusing four named and two to three unnamed people.
