Family carrying body in ambulance robbed

A family carrying the body of one of their members in an ambulance was attacked and robbed of money and valuables by muggers at Gazipur city's Sataish early yesterday while they were returning home from a Dhaka hospital.
Brandishing sharp weapons, around seven muggers looted three gold chains and two pairs of gold earrings from the widow and sisters of the deceased, Shahjahan Talukder, said the family. Three cellphones, Tk 10,000 and the death certificate were also snatched from the other members, they said.
Shahjahan Talukder died at a hospital in Dhaka on Thursday night.
