Shammi Kapoor’s son proves age is just a number

Shammi Kapoor's son, Aditya Raj Kapoor, recently achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating at the age of 67. Aditya, known for his roles as a retired businessman, and part-time actor, completed a Bachelor's degree in Philosophy through correspondence from the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Despite having opportunities for education earlier in life, Aditya embarked on this academic endeavour at 61. "Over the years I realised my error. But that was not enough, it was only when I felt the emptiness within me that I realised the value of education," he said.
He further explained that he was drawn to Philosophy because of his fascination with understanding the human thought process and the reasons behind it.
In a conversation with Indian media, Aditya credited his daughter, Tulsi, for pushing him to pursue this degree. She saw his retirement as an opportunity for him to further his education and encouraged him throughout the process.
Even though the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted some of his exam plans, Aditya's wife provided a supportive environment for his studies. He successfully completed his degree, earning a respectable second-class result with honours in Philosophy.
Aditya's motivation for this achievement was deeply rooted in his desire to honour his mother, Geeta Bali. He expressed that this journey was a tribute to her memory and the guidance of his spiritual mentor, Bhole Baba.
"My family was ecstatic. They couldn't believe I made it. I did this for my mother," he concluded.
Aditya Raj Kapoor now aims to pursue a Master's degree in Philosophy.
