Shakib Khan’s misconduct allegations: What we know from 5 years ago

On Tuesday, Rahmat Ullah, the producer of "Operation Agneepath", filed a written complaint about a seven-year-old incident, relating to sexual misconduct by Shakib Khan, to three associations of Film Development Corporation (FDC). In the complaint, he alleged that Shakib Khan had leaked the film's production schedule, caused financial losses to the project and also sexually harassed a woman, who was one of the film's co-producers.

However, in 2018, Mahin Abedin, a representative of Cinefect, had accused co-director Ashiqur Rahman of embezzling money. But there were no allegations against Shakib during that time in September of 2016.

At that time, Shakib Khan was shooting "Operation Agneepath" in Australia. Due to multiple producers being involved in the film and various conflicts, the shooting was halted after only 40 percent of the film was completed. Later, the film did not complete shooting even after Shakib offered different schedules on two occasions.

Five years ago, in an interview with various media outlets, Ashiqur Rahman had said that he was shooting for the film, "Superhero", in Sydney. He had noted that the allegations about embezzlement were being made to stop this movie.

“Operation Agneepath” in the works

"In September of 2017, I could not finish shooting 'Operation Agneepath' even though Shakib Khan offered two different schedules for us in a row. The production company, Cinefect, was not able to manage the money just two days prior to the shooting of the film. That's why I decided to quit filming 'Operation Agneepath'. At that time, I had explained all of this to them and even handed over any footage that had already been shot. Even after explaining the whole thing to them, I did not receive any response from them," Ashiqur Rahman had shared at the time.

When contacted about this issue, Shakib Khan's mobile phone was found to be switched off.
