Remembering KS Firoz on his first death anniversary
KS Firoz, who was a celebrated name in theatre, radio, television, and cinema left behind a legacy of impeccable performances.
Today marks the first death anniversary of the thespian, who passed away from complications due to Covid- 19.
Firoz entered the television industry in 1968 with the tele-fiction Tobuo Deep Jole. In his long career, he worked in over 500 tele-fictions and serials.
He founded the troupe Theatre Amambagh, which is known for its productions Sathghater Kanakori and King Lear.
His first film was Laawarish. He played significant roles in many other movies including Bashi, Brihonnola, and Chandragrahan, among others.
Playwright Mamunur Rashid recalled his memories with the artiste to The Daily Star.
Mamunur Rashid said, "I still can't believe that KS Firoz is no longer here with us. He was a close friend and we had worked in many plays together. He was a man with a big heart, and he could easily bond with anyone. We had shared countless memories with one another and these memories will forever be cherished in my heart."
"I have seen his work on the stage and I simply spelled bound by his act. He could really get into the skin of the character and mesmerise the audience with his impeccable performance," the actor added.
Firoz also served at Bangladesh Army, retiring as a major in 1977.
