‘No one from the association helped me in my time of need’
Former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murad Hasan's phone conversation with actress Mahiya Mahi and actor Emon sparked outrage all over social media.
Emon had to visit the Detective Branch and RAB Headquarters several times over the incident. The actor, who is the International Secretary of Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association, stated that no one from the organisation supported him.
"Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association has the responsibility to stand beside artistes during their tough times. Their one call or words of encouragement can give us mental support. However, no one from the association helped me in my time of need," said Emon.
"Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association's general secretary, Zayed Khan messaged me once. Later on, I called him but he didn't receive my call. Maybe he was in the middle of something and that's why he couldn't receive my call. President of the association, Misha Sawdagar, spoke to me over the phone just yesterday," added the actor.
"I am really hurt by the behaviour of the organisation. If we don't find any support from the Bangladesh Film Artistes' Association, then how can we survive in this industry? Whenever I think about it, it really makes me lose interest in the organisation," stated Emon.
On the work front, Emon's film, "Agamikal", was supposed to hit theatres on December 24, but the release has been pushed to next year.
