Disney cancels Margot Robbie’s ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ spin-off

Margot Robbie's female-driven, "Pirates of the Caribbean" spin-off film has been canceled by Disney.
In an interview with Vanity Fair, Robbie said, "I assume they don't want to do it, but we had an idea and we were developing it for a while, years ago, to have more of a female-led—not fully female-led, but just a different kind of story—which we thought would've been very cool."

In June of 2020, Disney had announced that Robbie would be starring in a new "female-fronted" "Pirates of the Caribbean" film. However, ever since then, they seem to have gone silent over the idea.
Disney's infamous pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow was originally portrayed by Johnny Depp, however, Disney removed the actor from the franchise after accusations of 'sexual assault' and 'domestic abuse' from his ex-wife Amber Heard.

Margot Robbie's upcoming films include Warner Bros' "Barbie", Wes Anderson's "Asteroid City" and an untitled "Ocean's Eleven" film for Warner Bros.
