Chumki in three TV serials on three channels
Farzana Chumki has been working in television dramas and theatre plays for quite some time. In particular, she is still quite active in the world of theatre. For many years now, she has been associated with the country's renowned theatre group, Dhaka Theatre—performing regularly with them.
Soon, three serial dramas from Farzana Chumki will be airing on three different TV channels. "Smritir Alpona" will be aired on ATN Bangla, "Cheater and Gentleman" on RTV, and finally "Emil o Tar Goyenda Bahini" can be seen on Duronto TV.
Speaking to The Daily Star, Chumki explained that all three of the dramas have very different stories and that her characters from each serial are also very different. She also shared that she has enjoyed working on these dramas.
The actress also told us how she was excited to be joining the cast of "Cheater and Gentleman", as it is quite a popular serial that has been running for quite some time now.
Talking about "Smritir Alpona", Chumki said, "I have been with this serial since the very beginning. I have a different kind of love for this project."
Chumki also spoke about "Emil o Tar Goyenda Bahini", noting, "There is very little work to do on detective stories, so it is a completely different experience for me. I shot the series in Chattogram."
Talking about her aspirations now, ther actress shared, "To be honest, at this time, I want to play different and slightly exceptional characters and work in interesting stories—that will give me satisfaction as an artiste."
The actress has been a part of Dhaka Theatre's beloved play, "Ekti Loukik Othoba Oloukik Steamer"—directed by Shahiduzzaman Selim.
Talking about the play, Chumki shared, "The stage has always made me gravitate towards it. That is why I am still actively working in theatre plays. My character in 'Ekti Loukik Othoba Oloukik Steamer' has captivated the audience and made them fall in love with me."
Over her entire career, Chumki has only ever worked on one film. The performance in question is in Gias Uddin Selim's directorial project, "Paap Punno", which has been highly appreciated.
