Ariq Anam Khan wins Best Director at International Short Film Festival

Promising director Ariq Anam Khan has received his Best Director award for his film "Transit" at the International Short Film Festival 2022 (ISFF) in Kolkata. The event was held on Sunday but he received the crest today.
The director posted a picture of the crest along with a post on his Facebook account.
"I was awarded the Best Director award for Transit: Short Film at the International Short Film Festival- ISFF 2022 Kolkata on Sunday. But I actually did not have the crest in my hand until late last night with special thanks to Humayun Ahmed Shrabon who travelled across Kolkata to give this in my hand before I left. It was a hectic last couple of days in Kolkata and for many different reasons," the post read.

"I am extremely grateful and humbled by this recognition. I know for a fact that there were several amazing films and filmmakers at the festival, with immense competition. I never for a moment thought that I would be getting an award and I was extremely surprised when my name was announced. This is a huge honour for me and everyone involved with this film," continued the post.
"This is the second award we have received for the film and the first one I have received as a director. I am really proud to be able to bring something back to Bangladesh. It feels great to be recognised and this will surely inspire me for the future," the post concluded.
Earlier, Ariq won the Best Cinematography Award for "Transit" at the Hummingbird International Film Festival in Kolkata. The film was also screened at two renowned festivals including Encounters Film Festival in UK and Busan International Film Festival in South Korea.
"Transit" is the story of a salesman, on the verge of poverty, who waits for a migrant visa to Italy, hoping that it would change his luck and create a better future for his family.
