Concertgoer throws object at Harry Styles, adding to string of onstage incidents
During a concert in Vienna on Saturday, musician Harry Styles became the latest target of a disturbing trend as the audience threw an unidentified object, which hit Harry's eyes. He was visibly injured, bent over, covered his face, and exited the stage.
This unfortunate incident is not the first time the "As It Was" singer has faced such an ordeal. Previously, he was bombarded with Skittles during a Los Angeles performance, and chicken nuggets were hurled at him during one of his shows at New York's Madison Square Garden last year.
These instances of disrespectful behavior from audience members have been on the rise since the COVID-19 lockdowns. Styles' recent incident adds to a growing number of similar occurrences this year alone. In June, Bebe Rexha was hit in the face by a thrown phone during a concert in New York City, resulting in a black eye. The assailant, a 27-year-old male, was arrested and charged with assault. In another incident, Ava Max was slapped by an intruder who rushed onstage during her Los Angeles performance.
Voicing her concern about this trend, Adele took a stand during one of her "Weekends With Adele" shows in Las Vegas. In a fan-captured video, she expressed frustration with people forgetting concert etiquette and throwing objects onstage. While playfully wielding a T-shirt gun, she jokingly dared anyone to throw something at her, adding, "I'll kill you."
