Borno Chakroborty dies from Covid-19
Musician Borno Chakroborty passed away with Covid-19 at a city hospital on Saturday. The 33-year-old singer tested positive for the virus earlier this month.
"Borno breathed his last at 10:41pm yesterday [Saturday] while being treated at Better Life Hospital," confirmed singer Fahmida Nabi.
Singer-songwriter and Composer Joy Shahriar said Borno had been undergoing treatment at the hospital since July 6.
Borno grew up in music from a young age. In addition to singing, he made music videos, tele-fictions, advertisements and documentaries. His first solo album, titled "Boka Pakhi", was released on April 9.
"We studied together in the film and media department at Stamford University; what a wonderful time we had together, what a wonderful privilege to have a great man like him as a friend," wrote guitarist and music director Emon Chowdhury on Facebook.
Various singers, composers, music directors and cultural personalities expressed deep shock at his death.
