Commemorating the birth centenary of pioneering educator, litterateur and founder of Bangladesh Mohila Samity (BMS) Nilima Ibrahim, a five-day theatre festival was inaugurated Tuesday.

The COP26 Climate Change photography exhibition, “A Better Tomorrow”, was inaugurated on November 5 at Drik Gallery in Panthapath, showcasing a collection of 30 photographs, surrounding the various themes of climate change. 

Commemorating eminent thespian and cultural activist Aly Zaker, the ‘Aly Zaker Sanman Padak’ will be given on November 12, at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy at 6.30 pm.

In honour of celebrated actor, thespian, director, and cultural activist Aly Zaker’s 77th birth anniversary, Nagorik Natya Sampradaya organised an event, titled “Smritite Smarane”, at the National Theatre Hall, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) yesterday.

Aly Zaker is a personality that does not need any introduction; words aren't enough to describe his accomplishments and how he brought life to many characters in both theatre and TV. The gifted actor is often called the lighthouse for the theatre and television industry of Bangladesh.

Bangladeshi photographer Asaf Ud Daula’s solo exhibition “Emotion to Generate Change” commenced in the beautiful city of St Peter’s Square (Vatican City) on October 31.

Noted artist Syed Golam Dastagir’s first solo exhibition “Temperament of Time” came to a close yesterday at Gallery Shilpangan. The event was inaugurated on 22nd October by eminent educationist Dr Syed Manzoorul Islam.

To commemorate the legacy of playwright, actor, and director Syed Mohidul Islam, a festival titled Syed "Mohidul Islam Sharan Utsab 2021", will commence from November 5-12 at National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA).  The event is organised by Batikrom Nattyagoshthi.

Voicing out through art

A grand celebration was held at Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, marking eminent actor and Member of Parliament Asaduzzaman Noor’s 75th birthday today. The event, titled Tomari Hok Joy,  was organised by the Asaduzzaman Noor Jayanti Uddojapon Jatiyo Committee, spearheaded by Professor Anup Roy. Renowned thespians Ramendu Majumdar and Nasiruddin Yousuff Bachchu were joint conveners of the event.

Bangladesh Art Week (BAW) launched three distinct yet correlated exhibitions, “Connection”, “I•D•E•N•T•I•T•Y WHO ARE YOU....TODAY?”, and “Undefined Territory” in Dubai, which will be on display till November in Dubai.

 A three-day theatre festival concluded at Mymensingh Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Saturday night.

The two-day “Anne Frank Fest”, organised by Mad Theatre, was held at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity from October 22. The chief guest at the inauguration ceremony were the Ambassador of the Netherlands Embassy in Bangladesh and freedom fighter Anne van Leeuwen, eminent thespian and freedom fighter Nasiruddin Yousuff, theatre personality Sara Zaker, popular stage and television actor Afzal Hossain, Subochon Natya Sangshad’s Editor-in-Chief Ahmed Gias and Mad Theatre’s Chief Adviser Prof Dr Israfeel Shaheen.

Prominent artist Manan Morshed’s dual solo exhibition, “Shut out of Site”, is currently taking place at Dwip Gallery in Lalmatia and the British High Commission Residence Project Space in Baridhara.

With the objective of guiding the new generation in building communal harmony, Kobial Trust has been formed by a group of cultural personalities of the country. Under their theatre banner Kobial, they inaugurated their first theatre production "Shukh" on October 21, at Experimental Theatre, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
