2 Bangladeshis arrested over sexual assault shot in leg by police in India’s Bengaluru
Two of the five Bangladeshis, who were arrested in India's Bengaluru for rape and assault of a woman, sustained bullet injuries in their legs today while allegedly attempting to escape from police custody.
Around 5am Indian time, police took the accused to the spot of the crime for reconstructing the sequence of events relating to the incident, reports our New Delhi correspondent quoting Shranappa SD, deputy commissioner of police (Bengaluru East).

Two of the accused allegedly tried to flee at that time and police had to open fire, the official told NDTV.
The two accused who sustained injuries on their legs, were admitted to a hospital.
Bengaluru police said, they arrested the five Bangladeshis, four men and a woman, on May 27, over the rape and torture of a young woman who they also believed to be from Bangladesh.
Footage of the incident went viral on social media over the last few days.
Police in Bangladesh said they identified the victim and one of the perpetrators as Bangladeshi and that they were not officially told about the arrests.
