Technical education mandatory in schools, suggests parliamentary body

A parliamentary body today recommended making technical courses mandatory at all general stream secondary schools.

The parliamentary standing committee on education ministry also asked the authorities to complete the syllabus in due time, said committee members after a meeting at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

“We have recommended for making technical courses mandatory for all students of class VI to X at all general stream secondary schools,” committee member Fazle Hossain Badsha told The Daily Star.

He said that they made the recommendation to develop skilled and efficient human resources for the country.

The committee also instructed the authorities concerned to increase their monitoring on educational institutions about completion of syllabus in due time, he added.
