Security isn’t a reality in Bangladesh: Nuhash
Security is not a reality in Bangladesh, says Nuhash Humayun, reflecting on the attack on his uncle – eminent educationist Prof Muhammed Zafar Iqbal.
“Look, I just want the people around me to feel safe in this country but that doesn’t seem to be a reality,” he wrote in a Facebook post last night.
“For me, this isn’t politics or ethics or ideals. This is family. And I’ll tell you this, my family is incredibly strong and unbelievably resilient,” he wrote.
“And no matter what comes its way, even through pain or violence or death- my family will continue to change the world. You can count on it,” he concluded.
A popular figure and a faculty at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (Sust), Prof Zafar Iqbal was stabbed at campus yesterday. Now, he is said to be out of danger.
His attacker, a bearded man, was caught red handed while stabbing Prof Zafar Iqbal on stage, from the rear.
