Youth murdered during clash in Bogura village
A youth was murdered in a clash in a village under Bogura's Shajahanpur upazila today, our Bogura correspondent reports.
The deceased was identified as Abu Bakkor Siddik, 23, son of Yusuf Pramanik, Mathail Purbopara village of the Shajahanpur upazila. Two others injured in the clash are Moniruzzaman, 35, and Badal, 30.
The injured are undergoing treatment at the Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, police said.
Sonatan Ckakraborty, additional police superintendent (sadar circle), said, "Abu Bakkor recently [three months ago] returned from Malaysia. An argument between two groups broke out during a game of carom. The two groups in Mathail village had been feuding for three days."
"Today, around 12:00pm the groups clashed," he added.
Azim Uddin, officer-in-charge of the Shajahanpur Police Station, said, "The other group attacked Bokkor and his friends with sharp weapons and left them in critical condition. Later, locals took them to hospital where Bakkor died around 1:00pm."
"We are conducting drive to identify and detain the attackers," he said, adding that no case had been filed regarding the murder yet.
