Couple placed in quarantine at Kutubdia after returning from India

A couple in Kutubdia upazila of Cox's Bazar has been placed in institutional quarantine after they returned from India.

The couple returned to their home in Kutubdia, an island in the Bay of Bengal, after performing pilgrimage in Gaya of India yesterday afternoon, reports our Cox's Bazar correspondent quoting Md Didarul Ferdaus, officer-in-charge of Kutubdia Police Station.

Local Upazila Parishad Chairman Nur-us-Safa informed police in this regard, the OC said, adding that the law enforcers later placed the couple in quarantine at the Zila Parishad Dak Bungalow in Kutubdia around 9:00pm yesterday.

The law enforcers have advised local residents not to roam around the dak bungalow area, the OC added.
