Biman to resume flights on Dubai, Abu Dhabi routes July 6
Biman Bangladesh Airlines will resume its flights on Dubai and Abu Dhabi routes from July 6, paving the way for expatriate Bangladeshi workers stranded in the country to join their workplaces in the UAE.
Mokabbir Hossain, managing director and chief executive of the national flag carried, shared this information with media today.
Earlier, Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (Caab) gave permission to Biman to resume its international flights only on Dhaka-London-Dhaka route from June 16.
CAAB so far gave permission to Qatar Airways, Emirates Airlines, Air Arabia and Turkish Airlines to resume their flights from Dhaka.
After around three months' suspension of regular passenger flight operations due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the government gave permission to resume flights on international routes on a limited scale from June 16.
There are several thousand Bangladeshis, especially migrant workers, who have been stranded in the country for several months due to the suspension of international flights amid the pandemic, and are waiting to rejoin to their workplaces in different countries, especially those in the Middle East.
