Biker killed in Lalmonirhat road accident

A road accident today left a motorcyclist dead on the Lalmonirhat-Burimari highway as a stone-laden truck crushed him under its wheels from behind at Beltali area of ​​Patgram upazila.

The deceased was identified as Mintu Miah (46), a food trader from Burimari Bazar area, reports our Lalmonirhat correspondent quoting police.

The accident occurred around 5:30pm today. The truck was seized but its driver and his helper managed to flee the scene, said Patgram Police.

"Mintu was travelling to Patgram upazila town from Burimari on his motorcycle when the truck hit and ran him over from behind -- killing him on the spot," said Patgram Police Station Officer-in-Charge Sumon Kumar Mohanta.
