Natore OC, UNO withdrawn on AL candidate’s complaint

A police officer and an administration official were withdrawn in Natore’s Gurudaspur upazila on the complaint of Awami League’s chairman candidate.

Upazila election’s Returning Officer Mohammad Rahim Hossain confirmed the development to our Natore correspondent while speaking this afternoon.

Awami League candidate for upazila chairman, Jahidul Islam filed a written complaint against Gurudaspur upazila’s police officer-in-charge and Upazila Nirbahi Officer.

He alleged, the Gurudaspur UNO Mohammad Monir Hossain and Gurudaspur Police Station OC Selim Reza were aiding opposition activists ahead of the election.

Election Commission’s Returning Officer Rahim Hossain has already forwarded a letter to the local authorities asking to implement the withdrawal in three days.

The upazila parishad election to Natore’s Gurudaspur is scheduled to be held March 10.
