There is no legal bar for the trial court to continue the trial proceedings as of the case against Tareque Sayeed following the HC order, Shaikh AKM Moniruzzaman Kabir, deputy attorney general told The Daily Star.

Earlier on March 7, a judge of another HC bench felt embarrassed to hear the petition of Tareque Sayeed.

Narayanganj panel mayor Nazrul Islam and his four associates, and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker and his driver were abducted from a Narayanganj road on April 27, 2014 and their bodies were later found floating in the Shitalakkhya river.
