An evening with Bannya (video)

Rezwana Chowdhury Bannya is a legendary exponent of Rabindra sangeet in Bangladesh and abroad.

She received her training in Santiniketan from eminent Rabindra Sangeet artistes like Kanika Bandyopadhyay, Neelima Sen and Shoilajaranjan Mazumdar.

She was one of the closest disciples of Kanika Bandyopadhyay who inspired her to form a Rabindra Sangeet school “Shurer Dhara” in Bangladesh.

Last Saturday Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre organised an evening of Rabindra Sangeet by Bannya where she performed a number of popular songs. The show was compered by Dr Ranjit Biswas, ex secretary of Bangladesh government.
