3 die with Covid-19 like symptoms in Manikganj isolation ward

Three people undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of Manikganj General Hospital, have died between yesterday evening and early today.   

The deceased were suffering from cough and breathing problems, our Manikganj correspondent reports quoting Dr Arshad Ullah, superintendent of the hospital.

Samples have been collected from their bodies and sent for Covid-19 testing, the doctor added.

They were buried according the rules of IEDCR and as per WHO guidelines, said the doctor, adding that people who came in contact with them have been asked to stay in home quarantine for 14 days.  

The deceased include a 50-year-old woman hailing from Manikganj town who worked as a cleaner of the Diabetic Hospital in the district, said Ali Razib Mohamamd Mithun, assistant commissioner (land) of Sadar upazila.

Another of the deceased is a 50-year-old male from Sadar upazila who was a private tutor by profession, said Dr Md Lutfar Rahman, health officer of Sadar upazila.

The other 55-year-old deceased male hailed from Ghior upazila, said Aireen Akhter, upazila nirbahi officer (UNO) of Ghior.
