The clash originated from a scuffle amongst the trio at the university’s Sabash Bangladesh playground in the afternoon over a cricket match, reports our university correspondent quoting witnesses.

After a few hours, Anik along with his supporters beat up Maruf and Asif with cricket bats and stumps in front of Shahidullah Arts Building in the evening.

Hearing the news of Maruf and Asif getting beaten up by Anik, a group of 10-12 supporters of Maruf and Asif confronted Anik when he was walking alone at the university’s Zoha Chattar area and beat him up.

Among the injured Asif was admitted into Rajshahi Medical College Hospital with leg injury, while others were released after primary treatment.
