Khulna to go into 7-day lockdown from June 22
To curb the spread of Covid-19, the Khulna District Committee on Coronavirus Prevention announced a lockdown in the district for seven days, starting from June 22.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the committee this afternoon, led by Khulna Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Helal Hossain, reports our Khulna correspondent.
According to the District Committee on Coronavirus Prevention, all shops, markets, and shopping malls will remain closed except pharmacies and emergency services during the lockdown. Public transport services will also be suspended.
Mobile courts will continue to fine people for not wearing masks during the lockdown, and will monitor that health rules are being followed.
Cabinet Secretary Md Kamal Hossain and Khulna Divisional Commissioner Md Ismail Hossain NDC were also present in the meeting.
Khulna Police Superintendent Mohammad Mahbub Hasan, Civil Surgeon Dr Niaz Mohammad, Khulna Medical College Vice-Chancellor Dr Mehedi Newaz, and other members of the committee were also present.
