The Supreme Court today extended its earlier order that stayed a High Court order granting bail to Tangail lawmaker Amanur Rahman Khan Rana in freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed’s murder case.
On April 13, the High Court granted him ad interim bail for six months and issued a rule asking the government why Amanur should not be granted regular bail in this case. Later, the apex court stayed the bail.
Today, the four-member bench of the Appellate Division headed by Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah, who is performing the functions of the Chief Justice, extended the bail until further order.
