Shops, rice mill in Barisal, Ctg fined for not using poly bags

The Department of Environment (DoE) yesterday fined seven shops in Barisal city Tk 23,000 for using polythene bags instead of jute bags.

In Bazar Road, Bappi Stores was fined Tk 8,000, Habib Traders Tk 5,000, Syed Amzad Stores and Messers Kamal Chandra Saha, Tk 2,000 each.

In Hatkhola area, Hariannda Store was fined Tk 3,000, Pannu Stores to Tk 2,000 and Roma Mistanna bhandar to Tk 1,000.

Meanwhile in Chittagong, the Chittagong district administration fined Bagdad Rice Mill in Notun Chaktai area Tk 1,000 for not using jute bags in packaging.
