EU awards Erasmus grant to three univs

The European Union has awarded its prestigious “ERASMUS+ Capacity Building in Higher Education” grant of USD 1 million to three universities in Bangladesh.

The institutions are Brac James P Grant School of Public Health, Brac University; International Centre for Climate Change & Development, Independent University of Bangladesh (IUB), and Asian University for Women (AUW).

A signing ceremony was held in this regard at Brac Centre Inn in Dhaka on Wednesday, said a press release.

The tripartite partnership will implement the “Transformative Competency-Based Public Health Education for Professional Employability in Bangladesh's Health Sector” project, from 2019 to 2021.

The universities will design and offer competency-based public health curricula to ensure professional skills development and address the skilled-workforce shortage in the health sector.

The technical partners are Maastricht University, Netherlands, and Institute of Development Studies, University of Sussex, UK.
