3 Shibir activists held from CU dorm

Police detained three Islami Chhatra Shibir activists from the Alaol Hall of Chittagong University and padlocked 12 rooms of the dormitory yesterday.

They are Mamun Kazi and Shakhawat, second-year students of Accounting and Information System.

A sack of Jihadi books, two sacks of stones, 30 blunt instruments -- including wooden sticks and rods -- have been recovered from their possession. BCL activists also beat two students and handed over one of them to police alleging him to be Shibir activist, eyewitnesses said.
