2 children die falling in water tank in Dhaka

Two infants died today after falling into a water tank while playing at Mohammadpur area of Dhaka.

The two children, three-year-old boy Habib, son of Mostafa from Bhola, and three and half-year-old girl Maria, daughter of Moni Mridha also from Bhola, fell into the water tank at Dhaka Uddyan in Mohammadpur this evening, Officer-in-Charge Jamal Uddin Meer of Mohammadpur Police Station told The Daily Star.

The children, whose families live in rented houses at Dhaka Uddyan, fell in the water tank while playing together, the OC added.

Police recovered the bodies around 8:00 pm and rushed them to Shyamoli Children’s Hospital where doctors declared them dead.
