Man, on phone, crushed under train at Malibagh

A 60-year-old man was crushed under a speeding train at Malibagh rail crossing, Dhaka, today.

Deceased Mohammad Forid was talking on his mobile phone when the train ran him over, Yasin Faruk, officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Dead Forid, Hailing from Habiganj and living in Chawk Bazar, Old Dhaka, was identified as a petty businessman who used to collect recyclable items on a peddle van in Malibagh area.

According to the police officer, he was crossing the lines around 10:00am when the train ran him over. He died on the spot.
