Dhaka city saw a continuous downpour from last night that continued until this morning.
Md Abul Kalam Mallik, an official of Bangladesh Meteorological Department, told The Daily Star 28 millimeter rain was recorded in the last 24 hours till 6:00am.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to very heavy falls at places in the country ," said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) release today.

The country's highest temperature was recorded 34.2 degree Celsius at Jessore in Khulna division and minimum temperature 23 degree Celsius at Rangamati in Chittagong division yesterday.
